Bailey's Search!

Ok so everyone knows that Bailey is looking for a horse. Almost everyone knows that she is trialing a horse named Georgia. Well a day after Bailey rode Georgia she turned up lame. The vet came out for a physical for Georgia and it turns out Georgia has something wrong with her leg (some disease that is prone to QH's). Apparently she will never be sound. The vet doesnt know what triggered it to come out. Me and Bailey didnt think it was the riding cause we've ridden her 3 or 4 times before she turned up lame. So Bailey is on the search again! ***Sara***

Badger and Ohio!

These pictures are of badger and his previous home in Ohio before we adopted him! The picture to the right is him in the snow!!!! The one to the left is him grazing in a field! He has been doing so good for me! Were hoping to do really well in jumpers in the shows we go to! He has made so much progress since i have gotten him. He used to be really fast since he was off the track but now hes collected and slow but can definitely be fast when we want him too! We have been jumping over 3 foot every time we ride except when were working on the flat. Talk To Everyone Soon! SJW

Naptime..

Here's a picture of Memphis and Cinn taking a nap and being watched over by Abbie. They are minis that my friend Adrienne has acquired for herself ~ some of you may remember Adrienne from M&M Farms. She left somewhere around the new year, after purchasing a farm of her own. She is truly enjoying her horse family, and learns more about horses each day. I bet these little animals are soooo much fun to have around!

Sophie & Memphis

This is a picture of Sophie (the Mother) and Memphis, who was born on 5/26/08 enjoying their new home at Equus Farm. Adrienne truly enjoys her horses and stays busy with her volunteer job with the foundation that she is a member of. Wouldn't it be nice to have these around the yard?

Clemson Show 8-16-08

The Clemson show has come to an end, and we are all exhausted. We worked hard and here's our ribbons to prove it.
J.P. got all of his leads and worked very hard.
Jack had a little bit of a hard time with his leads on the flat, but was very patient, jumped very well and was all in all, very good!
Our main goal is to get both horses "show ready" and you can't do that until you go to a few shows to break them in. Now it's time for the hard to work to begin and work on the things that weren't so perfect at the show. Then, on to the next one! It's as simple as that. Work ~ Show ~ Play (have fun), Work ~ Show ~ Play (have fun) and that ever favorite word of mine PROGRESS!!!!
WAY TO GO GIRLS, WE ARE VERY PROUD OF ALL OF YOU!!!
JENNY, thank you for letting the "boys" come out and play for the weekend ~ without you, none of this would be possible.
I would also like to add a THANK YOU to Holly for being there when we needed her! Although we have broken away on our own, there are still plenty of things that we need to know. Holly made sure that we were prepared and when we weren't, she walked us through patterns and explained different things to us. So, again THANK YOU Holly! We appreciate all of your help.

LOOK DOWN THERE BAILEY....

Sara keeps saying that she will one day be in the Olympics... dreaming doesn't hurt anyone now does it. One day the dream could possibly come true ~ you never know. Until then we train, train, and train some more.
Bailey says that she will be Sara's GROOM in the Olympics, so she also must train, train, and train some more.
It looks as though Bailey missed a spot on Sara's boots! She had better make sure she gets it right, or the gold medal could be the difference of a clump of dirt on the boot, or doing the job correctly and not having the "extra weight" on the boot weighing her down! (well okay, I did go a little overboard, but it did sound funny at the time ~ guess you had to be there)
Actually, Bailey wanted to come with us and see what it's all about. I think she had a really good time with us. I know we all had fun with her around and can't wait for the next one. THANKS FOR YOUR HELPING HAND BAILEY!

Time for warm ups...

Gia warming up in the warm up ring next to the covered arena.
Looks like she has the whole ring to herself!

Need some advice Sara???

Sara, how many times have I told you that you can't be nervous during a show!
Watch me and i'll show you how it's done ~ do the same and I promise you won't be nervous!

One Proud Mother............

Gia has such a huge smile on her face and don't you know it, so does the Mom! Kellie has every reason to be proud of Gia. All of her leads were correct, she jumped a perfect course when she needed to, and came home sporting a nice pink ribbon for a 5th place finish. Not too shabby considering the classes were so big, they had to be split into two for the flat work.
Gia also has this huge grin on her face because she won the BLUE RIBBON for pole bending! Go figure!!!! Way to go Gia and J.P.!!! She had so much fun in the 11 and under that she then competed again in the youth pole bending ~ she placed 5th in that one. Wow! What a great show Gia!

Happy Birthday to you!!!!

We just could not let the week go by without having a special celebration for Kellie! We had a birthday party for her the day after her birthday ~ we wanted her to think that we had forgotten, when in fact we had something special planned. As you can see in the picture in the margin to the right, we had a lot of people show up for her special night!
She was SO SURPRISED!!! In order to make sure that she arrived AFTER the rest of us, I had her go and pick up her own special pizza from NYPD while the rest of us ate a different kind of pizza. Then I made her go in the feed room door and walk straight in to all of the guests waiting to greet her! Thank you all for sharing this special day and making it fun for Kellie. Sara and Bailey, you did a wonderful job on the decorations too!

Sara & Jack

Here's the picture of Sara jumping Jack at the Middleton Fun Show. We really didn't think Jack aka "Poetry In Motion" could jump too high, but this was 2' 3" and he cleared it with ease! Obviously he hated the flowers at the jump and did not want them to touch him!
Now we know his little secret!
We are hoping for a good showing at the next show we attend, as we will be using Jack for the Hunter classes. Badger will be "saved" for Jumper only.

Friends forever

I just had to take this picture of Gia and J.P. He is such a wonderful horse and has the best ground manners ever (but then again, so do all of the horses at J&B)
Gia will be showing J.P. in some of the shows that we attend, and between them should make a pair to beat!

Brittany

Brittany riding her favorite horse Crackerjack (C.J.) ~~~ She has her new birthday pad on and looks great.
Keep up the good work Brittany.

Callie & Jody

Look at this wonderful picture of Callie and Jody. What a great pair! Callie has decided to take Jody on as her "Project" horse.
She has ridden him three times and has worked wonders with him already!
Way to go Callie!

Accomplishments with ribbons as a token

As you can see, we have a banner showing our "true colors" We are the girls who belong to J&B Stables and are so very proud of it that we had to get a banner to hang on our stalls when we are showing.

Thanks to our wonderful Trainer Jennifer, we have 2 of these banners to hang up - we couldn't be more happy! Burgundy and Black are the colors we have chosen to represent the J&B Family. We hope to make you all proud! THANK YOU JENN!

MIDDLETON FUN SHOW...

What amazing strides we made as a group! Our main focus in going to the Middleton show was to get Jack out into the show circuit and see how he managed. He was absolutely fantastic. He most certainly lived up to his show name "Poetry In Motion." Although he did not pin (due to missing a jump in both classes - it's okay Sara we forgive you) he was awesome. I truly don't believe we could have asked for better. We now know that he will stand tall when it comes to Hunter classes where he truly belongs! Then there was Badger. We all know the many quirks we have had to overcome with him. He walked on the trailer the first try, and did not even back out! Jenn was amazed! In fact she was so NOT ready for that, that nobody was standing close by to snap the butt bar closed! Come show time, he was a very patient horse. He waited for a very long time, and did a great job, but when it came time for him to show, he got a little impatient! He went out there and did his thing. He refused one jump, but looked absolutely fantastic in the 2' 6" class. We decided that because he was rather impatient that we would scratch him from the 2' 9" and the 3' classes and be happy with what we had accomplished. Sara was sick on top of things, so we didn't really want to push her either. As we were leaving, Kelly and I heard Sara's name being mentioned, and Badgers show name. Oh my gosh, we were pleasantly surprised to hear that they had placed 3rd in the 2' 6" class. So not only did we accomplish so much with Badger, and Jack, we also brought home a lovely yellow ribbon. Way to go Sara, she was completely taken by surprise! Bailey..... huge kudos to you for taking care of Badger the Beast most of the evening. You know I certainly wasn't going to hold him ~ not after having my jaw re-adjusted! I really, really, really appreciate you being so kind and helpful!!!!
Gia was excellent on J.P. She placed 4th and 5th respectively in both classes, which was really awesome, as this is the first time she has ridden him in a show. She was extra cautious, but let loose come timing time! She felt good ~ she had a fun time ~ there was no pressure, just lots and lots of fun and praise! What a pair together. I am sure they will do awesome at future shows. As a team, they can only improve!
Also we have to say a HUGE thank you to our ever patient trainer JENNIFER! She made sure to take the day off and be with us to help us out. Thank goodness she was there. And for extra support she brought her Mother all the way from Kentucky and her two adorable little black dogs! We know that Jenn knows that without her, a lot of this would not be possible. Everything ran very smoothly, and she knew when it was time to call it a night with the horses. WE LOVE YOU JENN!
I would like to thank DENISE, SCOTT, NANCY and JULIE for coming out to support us. It was great to see them all showing how much they care. We also had a wonderful surprise visit from our ever supportive Stable Owner JENNY S.! She had so much on her agenda Friday night, but showed us how important her girls are to her ~ she raced all the way to Middleton to watch her "babies" (Jack and J.P.) get back into the showing circuit. Sara and Gia were so happy to know how much it meant to Jenny to see them ride her boys. Thanks Jenny, they are model citizens of the horse world thanks to you!
Pictures will be posted by the end of this week, as it was a little too dark by the time we were finished.

PICTURES OF BAILEY, AMANDA & CALLIE TO FOLLOW....

Welcome Carly & Sydney

We would like to give a great big WELCOME to two of our newest additions to the J&B Family! Sydney (above) riding J.P. and Carly riding Crackerjack. It's so much fun watching the "new" girls adjust to their new roles on the farm. They are doing a great job in their lessons, and picking things up much quicker than I ever would. Keep up the good work girls!

The Girls.....

These are the girls at the barn celebrating Brittany's birthday. They played a game (I call pass the parcel) and the prize was a $15 gift card to Hunters Green.
The winner was Sara! Way to go Sara. We all know that no matter who wins, the money will be well spent on horse supplies!
As well as her saddle pad, Brittany received a nameplate for her saddle, horse treats, and a t-shirt. Way to go Brittany! Can I be 10 again please?????? ~~~~ just kidding, you couldn't pay me enough!

Brittany ~ birthday girl

Here's a picture of Brittany with her new saddle pad that she received for her birthday. Everyone had a wonderful time, and the pizza and cake were delicious.

Sara and Jenn made a whole new jump course and decorated it with flowers and it looks so sweeeeeeeet! It's always fun to jump when the jumps look so fancy and colorful. Jenn is going to the show with us, since she doesn't want to miss any of the fun. We are all looking forward to a great Friday night show.

Welcome Home to Jessie and Rosey

Hello Ladies! Rosey and Jessie are settling in great at their new pasture. Last night, we rode them in a super lesson. Thanks for your help Jenn!!! They were nervous at first but calmed down and were ready to work after about 15- 20 minutes. Little Jessie was handling the jumps like a pro for Gia - Rosey although a little frustrated gave Denise an hour of walk time. What a success. See you next time.....

Me Jumping Jessie

Hey Y'all! Its Sara! Great News... We have 2 new additions to the J&B family! The horses are Jessie and Rosey! The owners Karen, Gia, and of course Kellie! For some reason Kellie was under the impression that her pony Jessie could jump only 2'6. Well, that's ridiculous because ponies have springs! I knew it once I got on Jessie to ride and jump her that she could jump way higher than 2'6. I knew she was feeling awesome that day! I decided we would work up in the jumps, so first we jumped 2ft then 2'3, then 2'6, then 2'9 and she was clearing those jumps like it was her job (for the moment it was!) We decided to raise it to 3'1" ..... I was so confident in Jessie, she didn't even try to stop or refuse, actually she gained momentum as we approached the jump! In the video that's me jumping her 3'1! Kellie's reaction after we jumped was hilarious! After the outstanding ride I decided I would try her on the trails and she was PERFECT! All she did was talk the whole time to Jody (the pony that Gia was riding.) Of course we ended the day on a wonderful note, and everyone went home happy!

Awwww

This is a baby duck from J&B that we named Bobby! I found him in a stall all by himself! He looked like he was just born, so we tried to put him with two other duck families but they wouldnt take him! We decided that we would take him home since we didn't want to leave him alone! He is so happy, and has made himself right at home! He chases us and climbes on our feet, and he loves to swim! Isn't he cute! Later Gators! sara

Hey everyone! Its Sara! We have HUGE plans for my future showing with Badger and someone else who is absolutely amazing! You will have to wait until you see us at the shows! JUMPING 3'3

Hey Everybody its Sara! Yesterday (Sunday) we had an outstanding and just great day! Denise brought her boyfriend out and she rode Badger for him to see and Badger was perfect for her. I rode the cutest pony named Jodi who was absolutely perfect except when we cantered. I also rode Jack who is this gorgouse stunning black and white paint. He was so sweet and did everything I asked - he even has a little spunk over the fences! After Denise finished riding Badger I hopped on him and we did some BIG jumping! First we did 3' feet, he jumped that with at least a foot in between him and the jump, so we raised it to 3'3 and he did excellent!! We were both flying high in the clouds.

What a big dog you are.....Jack meets his first horse.

Jenn's Boston Terrier, Jack...(aka Little Man) is introduced to his first horse ever, Buckwheat with the help of Diane and Janet. Somethings are just too cute for words..........

We are so proud of you Jenn!!

Congratulations Jenn on being brought into the Catholic Church! With focus and determination...and a little bit of help from the Lord above, you can reach your goals. We are so very honored to have you in our lives.

GREAT FIRST SHOW!!!

Time to relax and goof around......Badger's first show brought home 8 ribbons. Great job Ladies and Gelding!!! Sara jumped Badger clean over fences. (see more pictures below). Brining in 6th, 5th, 6th and 4th against some competition. Denise brought home 3 blues in the walk/trott classes too. It was a fun show. Badger was much more relaxed.
Thanks to Jenn and Janet who are always there to help and guide us. We expect some great things to happen this year. Without a doubt......there will be a story or two to tell.

Tuesday Lesson Continued..........

Let us not forget our care taker Janet's accomplishements for the day! The "Woman who is afraid of Horses" Loaded our big 17hh boy not once but twice. You GO Janet! What a team we are.

Tuesday Lesson

....It doesn't get much better than this....................

Denise warmed up Badger around the ring at a trott with some spurs. So helpful!!! He was a perfect gentleman. Under the steady guidance of our MOST AWESOME trainer Jenn she was jumping cross rails and cantering out! SWEET!! Little did Denise know Jenn rose the jumps. Good Job Jenn! Now time for the pros.....Sara jumped on Badger and cantered him around the ring. In no time she was hopping over fences............two hands, one hand, no hands......THAT'S right NO HANDS!!!! You are the Bomb Sara!!!

Till next time.......here is a horsey quote..."What you allow, you teach."

Quit Pigging Around......I mean horsing around.

Here are Badger and Bodie giving the 6 month old Nemo a run for his money out of the pasture. I wouldn't try to steal any of their food if I were you...............................

Welcome Home!!!

Welcome to our new home at J&B Stables!

We are starting 2008 off with many hopes and happiness. While we miss riding with our old friends, we are enjoying the hospitality of our new hosts. Thanks to Jenny and Whit who keep a watchful eye over our most prized possession, Badger. It is truly amazing what people and dreams this horse has brought together in such a little time.

Eyes forward!! It is going to be one great year!
